Phoenix were delighted to co-host the Dive In Community Cup for the third year running with our inclusion partners Gallagher Insurance
The event took place on September 20, kicking off the fifth instalment of the international festival for inclusion and diversity in insurance Dive In.
Hosted at the Powerleague Docklands, this year’s competition featured16 teams from across the local community and insurance sector.
“The collaborative values and team participation fostered through playing sport in the community are a fantastic way to cultivate and enhance the action already underway across the insurance industry to further inclusion and diversity in our workplaces,” said Jonathan Turner, chair of Gallagher’s inclusion and diversity committee and chief executive of Pen Underwriting,
“We are really proud to sponsor the Dive In Community Cup for the third year running, and it’s great to be able to accommodate even more teams this time around. Last year was a huge success, so we look forward to making an even bigger impact with the 2019 Community Cup.”
East End Phoenix FC’s Felix Caldeira added: “In coalition with Gallagher, we are passionate about making a difference by supporting events like the Dive In Community Cup, and we are immensely proud to co-host the cup alongside Gallagher for a third year in a row.”
The event was a rip roaring success as ever with teams from across the insurance industry and local LGBT-friendly clubs coming together to play and enjoy football in an inclusive environment.
Gallagher ran out winners of the competition this year, with phoenix biting close at their heels, making it all the way to the final!
Thanks to our London Unity League friends – Soho FC, London Romans FC and AFC Muswell Hill for joining on the day.
We hope to run this wonderful event again for many years to come.
